Well I figure it’s time to update my site.
I had a great time at youth camp this weekend. It was my first time, so I
really didn’t know what to expect. But God showed me something that His
love is truly amazing. It was awesome watching all the kids respond to
His love. One girl, Christine, accepted Christ as her Savior this weekend.
And then at the campfire, with such enthusiasm and joy she shared it to us.
That was so encouraging. One of my highlights during the weekend.
Being at youth camp for the first time, I did have that feeling of not
knowing what I was doing. I still feel like I had no idea what I was doing.
I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t know what to do, but God is so good.
He can still use me even when I’m totally inept. It was good hanging out
with my campers, fellowshiping with them, praying for them.
They had a lot of fun things to do there. Besides watching ants fight
each other in the dirt, they had this thing called Aeroball. It looks like
so much fun. I got there late and only played one game, but man was it fun.
I got smoked Jake. Punk Jake. Only 7 grand for this thing. Sweet. Who
wants to chip in?
So after youth camp, Yvonne and I tried to go watch Minority Report. Stupid
Monrovia Krikorian. Selling out on me. Sigh… Had to settle for the
mediocre Sum of All Fears. It would have been much better if Harrison Ford
had played Jack Ryan. Ben Affleck ain’t no Jack Ryan. What were they
thinking of? I guess it’s part of my fault for not being able to see
Minority Report yesterday. “Nah, you don’t have to pick up tickets, Yvonne.
They shouldn’t be sold out.” My bad… My bad…
I redeemed myself tonight. Sort of. We got to go see it tonight. I really
enjoyed the movie. Of course I couldn’t really enjoy seeing Yvonne getting
a headache, feeling sick. I want to keep focused on the film, but I can’t
stop wondering how Yvonne felt. Oh well… Poor Yvonne. I really enjoyed
the film. She probably would have enjoyed it much more if she felt better.
We did get a big kick when one of the guys mentioned he went to Fuller
seminary for 3 years. Haha!
